Technical Services Guide: Interlibrary Loans/Shareit

Find answers to your technical services question here.

CKLS ILL Consortium Lending

Interlibrary loan is the process of sharing materials between libraries.

Pathfinder Interlibrary Loan is the process of sharing materials between the libraries that keep their records in the CKLS Koha catalog.

CKLS is a library consortium of 54 libraries. CKLS provides ILL services to member libraries for items that cannot be found in Koha or SHAREit. Member libraries should check both Koha and SHAREit before sending in an ILL request.

While we can find a lot within Koha often there is a request for something that cannot be found within the system. That is where KICNET comes in.

KICNET Membership Agreement

KICNET Membership

The KICNET Membership Agreement should be resigned every two years OR whenever significant staff changes occur.

KICNET is the Kansas Statewide ILL system. They use Auto-Graphics' SHAREit as their platform for finding and sharing items Statewide.

Because we need to make sure that everyone is on the same page there is a membership agreement that must be signed after reading the Best Practices for Interlibrary Loan. Please check it out and sign up for membership if you haven't already.

Please contact Nicole Hansen at the State Library of Kansas for more information on  Interlibrary Loan Services.
