2023 System Grant--Public Library Allotment 

The 2023 System Grant Questionnaire and Expenditure of 2023 Funds forms must be received or submitted electronically no later than the First Friday in February 2024 (February 2, 2024).

• The Questionnaire and the Expenditure of Funds are available as separate online forms. This year the online forms are linked and some answers will be prefilled.  You will need to log in to a Google account to fill out the form.  Each library will have 2 customized links, one for each form, to access the prefilled form. You will receive a separate email response for each form.

• The Questionnaire and Expenditure of Grant forms must be submitted online.

• If you need assistance, please call a consultant. We are always happy to give you step-by-step instructions. If we miss your call, please leave a voicemail. We may be away from our desks, in a meeting, consulting around the system, or otherwise engaged. Voicemails are forwarded to the consultants' emails where ever they are. They will return your call as quickly as they can.

Courier Allotment
The Central Kansas Library System subsidizes courier service for all eligible public libraries through a courier allotment. Each eligible public library pays a nominal annual fee. CKLS will subsidize 89% of the courier fee for each participating member library, along with overage charges. The library portion is 11%.
 

Each year,  each courier library will receive an invoice for courier service from the Northeast Kansas Library System, which administers the courier service. The invoice will be for the full cost of the courier service, which equals the local library amount due and the CKLS allotment amount, shown in the table below. The invoice will include any volume overage charges as well.
 

Also annual, each courier library will receive the CKLS Courier Allotment as a direct deposit to the bank account on file with CKLS. This direct deposit or Automated Clearing House (ACH), will indicate it is a courier allotment for subsidizing courier payment. If a library incurred volume overage charges, the CKLS Courier Allotment will include the amount of the overage charges.

If basic courier costs increase, the CKLS courier allotment will increase accordingly.
